Volaris describes itself as an “ultra-low-cost airline”, headquartered in Mexico City. Services are basic, with no complimentary food or drink or in-flight entertainment. The airline does however offer a frequent flyer program, known as VClub – this offers repeat customers exclusive deals and perks such as extra baggage. Volaris offers just a single class of ticket, economy. Volaris has been operating budget flights since 2006, serving predominantly domestic travellers. Important routes and destinations include Guadalajara, Tijuana, Cancun, Leon and Monterey. There are also some routes to the United States and other international neighbours, including Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica and Guatemala.

This hugely successful airline has been growing rapidly, doubling revenue and passenger numbers between 2018 and 2023. Volaris operates more than 120 aircraft, including 46 Airbus A320neo and 42 Airbus A320-200. It has a further 25 Airbus A320neo models on order, testament to the growth of the business.
