Mandarin Airlines is based in Taipei on the island of Taiwan. China Airlines, the Chinese national flag carrier is the airline’s parent company. Mandarin Airlines specialises in domestic and regional flights to mainland China and other Asian destinations. Key routes include Hong Kong, Fuzhou, Nanjing and Zhengzhou in China, and regional destinations such as Osaka, Hanoi and Seoul. Historically, it has operated longer-haul journeys to Australia, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands, though these routes are no longer serviced.
Founded in 1991, the airline operates a fleet of ATR 72-600 aircraft and has more on order, due to be delivered in 2025 as Mandarin Airlines ramps up its activities post-COVID-19. It operates mainly as a feeder airline for China Airlines, helping to connect passengers from small regional airports to the larger international network managed by the parent company.
