Lufthansa City Airlines

Not to be confused with Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines is a new regional subsidiary of the German flag carrier. It is set to replace the established Lufthansa CityLine, which the parent airline is replacing due to unfavourable union contracts. It recently commenced operations, in June 2024, having been founded in 2022. The airline’s main hub is in Munich, whilst it has a significant presence in Frankfurt. A member of the Star Alliance, Lufthansa City Airlines serves predominantly domestic routes, including flights to and from Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Hanover, and Munich. There are also international routes between German cities and the French city of Bordeaux, as well as with Birmingham in the UK.

An additional 17 new destinations are planned for 2025, including Dublin, Paris, Zagreb, Barcelona, Prague, Oslo and Helsinki. Lufthansa City Airlines also plans to add an additional aircraft each month of 2025 to its initial fleet of five aircraft, The majority of these are Airbus A319-100 models.
