Founded in 1993, Calafia Airlines is a Mexican regional airline that predominantly serves the Baja California Peninsula, a crucial tourism hub for the country’s economy. It also serves destinations along the country’s Pacific coast and in Northern Mexico, with regular flight connections to destinations including Tijuana, Loreto, Cabo San Lucas, Chihuahua, Juarez City and Guadalajara. Although predominantly a passenger airline, Calafia also operates limited charter flights and has branched into offering whale watching tours along the coastline! The airline is headquartered in Cabo San Lucas, its most important destination as a tourist hotspot.

The small airline operates just five aircraft, with four Embraer ERJ 145ER and a single smaller Embraer EMB 120ER Brasilia in operation. However, as of the end of 2023, due to a sluggish recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, four of the airline’s five aircraft were grounded, with just one in regular use.
