Asky Airlines’ first flight took off in 2010, two years after this airline was founded in order to fill the space left by the bankruptcy of pan-African airline Air Afrique. The company is a strategic partner of Ethiopian Airlines, a partnership which has resulted in rapid growth as Asky Airlines has been able to quickly expand its reach to new markets and destinations.

The company is headquartered in Lome, Togo and its main hub is at the city’s Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport. Asky Airlines currently operates the world’s shortest international route, from Kinshasa in the DR Congo to Brazzaville, in the Republic of the Congo. The airline also connects major cities in African nations including Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, South Africa and Cameroon and has recently launched new routes to Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea.

The airline’s fleet is made up predominantly of the 1993 Boeing 737-800, with a handful of newer Boeing 737 MAX 8 and a single De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 also in service. Asky Airlines offers a range of services, including economy and business class, cargo transportation and charter flights.
