Founded in 2019, Animawings is a Romanian airline based at Bucharest’s Henri Coanda International Airport and with a further hub at Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport. It is predominantly a charter airline serving seasonal destinations within Romania, such as Brasov, Cluj, Sibiu and Timisoara. The Greek flag carrier, Aegean Airlines did hold a majority share in Animawings, however 100% of the airline’s shares were purchased by the Memento Group in February 2024.

However, it has made a recent foray into scheduled passenger services, and now offers limited flights between Romania and predominantly Greek destinations, including Corfu, Heraklion, Rhodes, Kefalonia and Zakynthos. There are also limited flights to Paris, Faro, Mallorca and Stockholm. Animawings’ small fleet is comprised of Airbus A320-200 and Airbus A220-300 aircraft. However, the airline has 12 Airbus A320neo aircraft on order as it expands its operations. The first of these aircraft are due to be delivered in summer 2024.
