State-owned Air Senegal is the African nation’s flag carrier, having been founded in 2016 to replace the liquidated Senegal Airlines. The airline is based at Dakar’s Blaise Diagne International Airport.

One of the airline’s flagship routes is the direct connection to John F Kennedy International in New York City, whilst other important destinations include Jeddah, Casablanca, Milan and Paris. Regular flights to African countries including Cameroon, Gabon, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria and Sierra Leone are also in operation. Flight capacity has increased by almost 50% since the end of 2023. A strategic partnership was signed with Royal Air Maroc, increasing the number of Casablanca flights to four weekly, whilst flights to European destinations are now offered on a daily basis.

Air Senegal’s fleet is comprised of around eleven aircraft, including a range of Airbus models such as the A220-300 and the A319-100. Newer models include two Airbus A330-900’s, which launched in 2014.
